The purpose of the Student Activity Fund is to provide funding for activities and programs that contribute to student life at Grinnell College. Such activities and programs can include but are not limited to speakers, events, and conferences. The fund includes monies previously located in the offices of the President, Dean of Students and Dean of the College and all academic departments. These offices are no longer providing funding. Groups, individuals and events that historically have (or would have) received funding from those offices should request funds from the Student Activity Fund by completing and submitting a request form. The Student Activity Fund is not a SGA governed account. Control resides in an administrative committee, which encourages student input.
Note: 1. If you are requesting supplies, conference registration fees, or other items that might fall under SGA areas (films, finance, concerts & ACE) and you are a recognized SGA student organization, we strongly recommend you approach SGA for funding of those items. Please see the information located in the SGA offices for the funding guidelines and deadlines. 2. No retroactive funding will be considered (this includes anything purchased prior to funding notification). 3. Under certain circumstances the committee may not fund an event if it is a political event, or controversial. 4. The committee may also decide to only partially fund some activities or events. 5. When funding individual ventures or conferences the committee would like included in the proposal an itinerary, daily budget, statement on how this connects to classes/major/campus.
