Room Draw Manipulation

A Room Draw manipulation policy has been implemented to assure the most equitable Room Draw possible. A student who enters Room Draw in good faith will not be subject to any of the penalties listed below. The basic intent of this policy is to thwart manipulation; therefore, the penalties are severe. Any exceptions must be approved by the Director of Housing.

  1. Students drawing into singles will not be allowed to swap rooms with other students in doubles or triples for a period of one semester.
  2. A student drawing into a single will not be allowed to swap rooms with another student in a single without written permission from the Office of Student Affairs.
  3. Students having the lowest number in a double or triple (the student who drew the room) will not be allowed to move for a period of one semester.
  4. Any violator of the above will be subject to the judgment of the Director of Housing and/or possible judicial action.
  5. Number switching is not allowed.
