Students on leave or studying abroad during the academic year have the option of participating in room draw. Students who
choose to exercise this option will pair up with a student who will be on leave or abroad the opposite semester. A paired group
of students can choose to live in a single, double, or triple occupancy room. However, all spaces must be filled for the entire year.
For example, if Sally is Off Campus Study in the Fall and Molly is Off Campus Study in the Spring, they can occupy one space in a
single, double, or triple as long as the other students plan to occupy their space year round. Students can draw into a room using
the lowest room draw number of the pair.
If a student chooses not to go on leave or study abroad, they will NOT be required to vacate the room they currently reside in. The returning student
will need to choose one of the options below with regard to housing when returning to campus.
Students on leave or studying abroad during the fall semester must request housing, including permission to move off-campus,
for the semester of their return. Students on a leave of absense will not be considered for housing until they are approved to
return from leave by the College. A Request for Housing form will be sent mid summer via email from the Housing Office to students
in need of housing for the spring. Housing preferences, including requests to live in off-campus non-college-owned housing,
will be indicated on this form. The Request for Housing Form must be returned (via reply email) to the Housing Office by the date
indicated. Students returning to campus for the spring semester will be prioritized by class year and random room draw number
prior to housing placement. All students requesting off-campus non-college-owned housing (including students currently on
campus, on leave, and study abroad) will be prioritized by class year and random room draw number prior to off-campus spaces
being offered. The number of students offered a space for off-campus housing will be adjusted as spaces become available.
There is no guarantee that seniors or second-semester juniors will be allowed to live off-campus. First-semester juniors (as
of spring semester) will not be allowed to live off-campus. Students will be notified in January of their housing assignment for
the spring semester.

Students on a leave of absense will not be considered for housing until they are approved to return from leave by the College. A Request for Housing form will be

non-college-owned housing, will be indicated on this form. The Request for Housing Form must be returned (via reply email) to the Housing Office by the date
indicated. Students returning to campus for the fall semester will be housed during spring room draw. Students may designate a student proxy or a representative
from the Student Affairs Office to choose a room for them. If your housing preferences are not available when it is your number's turn to choose a room at room
draw, you will be housed during the summer. All students requesting off-campus non-college-owned housing will be prioritized by class year and random room
draw number prior to off-campus spaces being offered. The number of students offered a space for off-campus housing will be adjusted as spaces become available.
There is no guarantee that seniors or second-semester juniors will be offered off-campus housing. Students will be sent off-campus housing offers prior to room draw.
Students whose housing is chosen for them by Student Affairs during room draw will be notified of their housing assignment after room draw.
Fall housing decisions for students away from campus in the spring will be made in accordance with published deadlines for all students.
