All student records are maintianed in strict confidence and are securely stored. No information is released without the student's permission through written consent.
In addition to providing a prompt, efficient, caring health regimen, the Health Center serves the College community by maintaining favorable working relationships with local health care providers such as hospitals, physicians, clinics, and pharmacies.
Other services include:
- assistance with and transportation to local medical appointments
- notification of professors of class absence due to illness
- health education on campus
- Mental Health Walk-ins
- dispensation of over the counter medications such as antacids, antihistamines, cough medication, decongestants, pain relievers, throat lozenges, ointments and pediculicide shampoo
- dispensation of the "Morning After Pill"-Plan B
- promotion of the influenza innoculation and the Sub Acute Care Program
- Testing for pregnancy, HIV, mononeucleosis, strep A, hemoglobin, and blood sugar
- Implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Ammendments of 1988

- The Grinnell SubAcute Care Program helps to provide overnight care for Grinnell Students who are ill, but do not medically require hospitalization
