Hal is Vice President for Copley Press, La Jolla, California, and resides in
Encinitas, California. A political science major at Grinnell College, Hal also earned an
M.S. from Columbia University and a J.D. from Cleveland State University. His spouse,
Pamela Fuson, also attended Grinnell College before transferring to the University of
Houston where she earned a B.F.A. in 1970. They have two children; their son, John
Fuson '93, earned a B.A. in history from Grinnell College before earning his J.D. at the
University of Pennsylvania. His daughter-in-law, Amy Henderson, '94, was an art major
at Grinnell College. Hal has remained very active at Grinnell College in a variety of
volunteer capacities, including as an admission representative, sesquicentennial
volunteer, class fund director, and alumni council member.
