The Garden Club of America offers a wide range of scholarships and fellowships for students of the environmental sciences - botany, coastal wetlands, conservation, desert studies, ecology, environmental studies, horticulture, landscape architecture, medical botany, urban forestry and much more. All Associate, Bachelor, and Masters Degree candidates with an interest in the visual arts (regardless of declared major), currently enrolled at a Midwest Regional public or private college or university are invited to enter the 2nd Annual Fine Art Finals Midwest Regional Scholarship Competition. Accepted media include drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, fibers, photography, digital art, and graphic design. Scholarship awards range from $50.00 - 1,200.00. The Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University is currently offering a variety of scholarship and fellowship programs. The Humane Studies Fellowships award up to $12,000 to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students who are exploring the principles, practices, and institutions necessary to a free society through their academic work. This fellowship is open to all students pursuing a degree full-time in the 2009-2010 academic year. IHS Film and Fiction Scholarships award up to $10,000 for tuition and expenses. The film and fiction program is open to all students who will be pursuing a Master of Fine Arts full-time in the 2009-2010 school year.
