Things to Check out in Town...Friday, June 20 to Thursday, June 28, 2008


Public Auction: Sales by Sears will hold a public auction, Saturday, June 21st at the 4-H Building located at the south end of East Street. Furniture, antiques, collectibles, and tools will be auctioned off beginning at 9:00 am. For more information visit www.salesbysears.com.

Farmers' Market: The East side of Broad Street between 4th and 3rd Avenue, Saturday, June 21, 10 a.m. - Noon and Thursday, June 26 from 3-6 p.m.. Shop for fresh baked goods, crafts, fruit, vegetables and much more at the local Farmer's Market.

Vintage Auto Show: The 35th Annual Grinnell Vintage Auto Show will be held on Sunday, June 22 from 8 am to 3 pm in Central Park. For more information call Bob at 236-4028 or Andrew at 990-6388.

Grinnell Historical Museum: There will be a Gala re-opening of the historical museum located at 1125 Broad Street on Sunday, June 22 from noon to 4 pm. There will be live music beginning at 2 pm.

Thursday's Music in the Park: Thursday, June 26 Metro Mix Chorus will play at 5:30 and Grinnell Community Band will take the stage at 6:30 and Turlach Ur will follow at 7:30 in Central Park. For more information please call 641-236-1626.

GHS 3rd All-Class Reunion: Re-discover the Jewel of the Prairie! The reunion is to be held July 4-5.

4th of July Parade: Entries for the parade are available at the City of Grinnell or the Chamber of Commerce office. They are due July 2 by noon. The fee is $5 in advance and $10 the day of the parade. Entries added the day of the parade will be at the end of the parade. For more information please call Robin Young at 236-1626.
