PRINTS FROM WILDWOOD PRESS AT GRINNELL’S FAULCONER GALLERY
GRINNELL, IA - Large format prints from Wildwood Press will be on exhibit at Grinnell College’s Faulconer Gallery, June 13-August 10. The exhibition, "Works in Progress: Prints from Wildwood Press," will feature works by 14 artists who have worked at the press since its founding in St. Louis in 1996.
Wildwood Press, founded by artist and printmaker Maryanne Ellison Simmons, is known for its custom papermaking and production of prints as large as five feet by 10 feet. Simmons will deliver a gallery talk about Wildwood Press on Sat., Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. in Faulconer Gallery.
Other events related to the exhibition include:
· An opening reception, Fri., June 13, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Faulconer Gallery.
· Yoga in the Gallery with Jennifer Mavin, Wed., June 25, and Wed., July 9, from noon to 1 p.m. Community participants are welcome to engage in yoga instruction, accessible for all ages, abilities, and experience levels.
· A concert of piano and flute music in the gallery surroundings of the large format prints will be held Sun., July 13, at 2 p.m. "Shared Motifs: Music for Piano and Flute" will be performed by Rebecca Stuhr and Kris DeWild.
Faulconer Gallery is located in the Bucksbaum Center for the Arts at 1108 Park St. on the Grinnell College campus.
