Grinnell College to Host Drake Brass Quintet

GRINNELL COLLEGE TO HOST DRAKE BRASS QUINTET

GRINNELL, IA - The Grinnell College Department of Music will host the Drake University Faculty Brass Quintet on Sun., May 11, at 2 p.m. in Sebring-Lewis Hall of the Bucksbaum Center for the Arts on the Grinnell College campus.

The Quintet, which includes members of the Drake and Grinnell music faculties, will perform a program of new music, from a brass quintet classic to a tango. Quintet members include Grinnell applied music associate Guinevere McIntyre on French horn; Michael Short, tuba; Andrew Classen and Justin Brookens, trumpet; and Grady McGrannahan, trombone. This spring, the Quintet recorded "Sentient Terra," a four-part composition by Grinnell College senior David D’Angelo, a computer science and music double major from Indian Head Park, Ill.
