FOLK SINGER BONNIE KOLOC IN CONCERT AT GRINNELL COLLEGE
GRINNELL, IA. - Folk singer Bonnie Koloc will return to her Iowa roots to perform on Tues., Apr. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Joe Rosenfield ’25 Center at Grinnell College. The award-winning song artist is known for her "enduring and versatile voice," which has been heard in Chicago since 1968.
A native of northeast Iowa, Koloc has been profiled as a "renaissance woman "for her abilities to continuously re-invent herself as a fine artist"to experiment musically with a folk-oriented style as well as jazz, blues and musicals, and to explore printmaking, painting and ceramics. In the mid 1990s, she combined talents in "A Bestiary," a collection of linocuts, poetry, and music available on CD. In 1997, she created a one-woman musical, writing the music, designing the set, and creating the costumes. Since then, she has been active as a book illustrator in addition to her music.
Tickets are required for Koloc’s free public performance and may be obtained at the Bucksbaum Center box office, beginning Thurs., Apr. 3, noon to 5 p.m. (no email or phone requests). A limited number of tickets will also be available at the Pioneer Bookshop located at 823 4th Avenue in Grinnell.
