The following discussion provides information about some of the more common uses of the CallPilot voice messaging system. A printable quick reference guide in pdf format is also available.
Once you have subscribed to a voice messaging mailbox you can begin receiving messages. The message-waiting lamp on the telephone should light when a new message is available. IMPORTANT: If more than one mailbox associated with your phone is active, the CallPilot cannot identify which mailbox has a message waiting. If any of the voice mailboxes associated with the room telephone number has an unread message waiting, the lamp will remain lit. The only way to know if your particular mailbox has a message is to check.
To listen to your voice messages or to perform other messaging functions:
- Dial the voice mail access number (4316) from your room phone or any campus telephone. You may also access voice mail from an off-campus phone by calling 269-4316.
- At the mailbox prompt, enter your four- or five-digit mailbox number followed by the # button.
- When prompted, enter your mailbox password followed by the # button.
- If you have any new messages, the CallPilot attendant will indicate the number of new messages and will play them in sequence. If you do not have new messages, the CallPilot attendant will tell you, and will start playing any old messages. If you have no messages, the CallPilot attendant will tell you.
- When you have finished listening to messages or performing your other messaging tasks, press 83 to exit CallPilot.

With a temporary greeting you can set a date and time when the greeting will expire.
