2008 - 2009 Semesterly fee: $65.00 per student (per semester).
This fee enables students to place local calls from their residence hall room at no additional cost. Long distance calling cards or a campus authorization code (see below) are required to place long distance calls from campus telephones. All residence hall rooms are equipped with a telephone which is enabled with voice mail features.

Iowa Telecom Phone Service Rates
Line Connection Fee (per room, each time line is connected) = $44.99

Basic monthly local service (initially paid two months ahead) = $29.97 plus tax*

*Credit check is required for all new IA Telecom customers. Depending on qualification findings, a deposit may be applied to the first month's bill.

Long distance service, if desired = $9.95 - $69.95 plus per minute charges per month, depending on service plan

Voice Mail = $4.95 per month

A student may purchase and bring to campus their own telephone (service requires line connection through IA Telecom-see fee above) enabled with additional features such as Call Waiting ($4.95 per month), Caller ID ($8.40 per month) or 3-way Calling ($3.40 per month).

IA Telecom telephone service may cost a student from $45.00 to $100.00 per month for basic local and long distance service and basic voice mail capability, as well as installation fees of $130.00, each semester/year that service is connected.
