Patient Process explored contemporary paintings in which the process of creating the work is elaborate and time consuming. The process of making is crucial to the actual impact of the work, and the viewer, in turn must bring patience to the process of encountering the painting. The show included work by artists in the Midwest and on the coasts and explored, in part, whether patient processes are encouraged by region, personality, artistic style or other contributing factors. |
