Cans and bottles are collected by Facilities Management in academic buildings and in dorm recycling room. They are then redeemed and the money is given to Mid-Iowa Community Action (MICA) for use in its programs. This initiative is coordinated through the Office of Community Enhancement. Over the last several years, the amount has been increasing:
