Andy Hamilton, coaching his final home game for the Pioneers, watched the hosts rack up their second-highest scoring output of the season en route to improving to 7-8 in league play and 9-13 overall. Knox fell to 1-14 in the MWC and 3-19 in all contests.

Hannah Wolf '08 led a charge of four Pioneers to score in double figures with 27 points to go along with six assists and five steals. She hit a third of Grinnell's 15 3-pointers, going 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Jodi Watkins '09 added 16 points with the aid of four treys, while Mallory Scharf '11 and Jessica Shotts '10 had 12 points apiece. Jessica Vaverka '11 had 10 rebounds, while Laura Burton '08 had five assists. Erin Navalio and Andie Allison had 14 points each for Knox.

The contest was tight nearly the entire first half, with eight ties including 33-all with 3:21 left. But Grinnell got some breathing room by closing out the half with a 9-2 run. Watkins had a pair of 3-pointers during the spurt and Wolf one for a 42-35 halftime lead.

It was still close early in the second half, with Knox being within 47-42 at the 15:05 mark. But Grinnell then broke the game open for good with a 15-4 run over the next several minutes. The wealth was spread evenly over that span, as Wolf, Shotts and Scharf all made 3-pointers. Wolf also sank a pair of free throws, while Kate Norton '11 and Watkins scored two-point baskets for a 62-46 lead with 9:19 to go. The hosts never let Knox closer than 14 points the rest of the way as they won their second game in a row.

The Pioneers will close out their 2007-08 campaign Saturday at Illinois College. Game time is 1 p.m.
