Pioneers Fall to 12th Ranked Norse

The Grinnell College men's tennis suffered another tough regional loss on Saturday afternoon, falling 7-2 against Luther. The Norse are 21-3 overall and ranked 12th in the region.

The Pioneers got off to a strong start, taking two of three doubles matches, but then couldn't manage a victory in singles play. Nate Fox '09 and DJ Warden teamed up in No. 1 doubles and picked up an 8-4 victory before Eli Best '07 and Jordan Lee '08 recorded an 8-5 win in the No. 3 match.

Sam Raife '10 and Eric Ohrn '07 each won the first set of their respective singles matches before falling in the next two. The other four matches were won by the Norse in straight sets.

Grinnell now stands at 14-6 overall and will return to action on April 17 when they host Central in the home finale beginning at 4:30 p.m.
