Pioneers Place 21st at Buena Vista Classic

Pete Kieselbach '10 fired a pair of rounds in the 70's to lead the Grinnell College men's golf team at the Buena Vista Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Lake Creek Country Club. The Pioneers finished 21st overall with a team score of 641.

Kieselbach opened with a round of 78 before a final 18-hole round of 76 on Saturday, put him in a tie for 50th. Carlos Lu '10 (T75) and R.J. Roewe '09 (T91) followed, with final scores of 158 and 161, respectively. Joe Fox '08 and Michael Inman '09 rounded out the places for the Pioneers with scores of 168 and 174, respectively.

Nebraska Wesleyan won the team title with an overall score of 575, while also bringing home the individual champion in Tyler Lawson, who shot rounds of 69 and 70.

The Pioneers return to the course on Friday when they compete at Indian Hills C.C.
