Grinnell College's Keith Chamberlain '08 has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Performer of the Week.
The 6-foot-8 center from Chicago was named most valuable player at the Buzz Levick Tip-Off Classic hosted by Wartburg College over the weekend. He had a 35-point, seven-rebound performance in the championship game win over the hosts. He shot 12-of-15 from the field, including 3-of-3 from 3-point range, and was 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. Chamberlain helped spark a late rally for the Pioneers, as he scored six points, had two steals and recorded a block in the final 3 minutes, 12 seconds of the game. That helped Grinnell erase a 97-91 deficit
He added 15 points against Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the first-round victory. For the season, Chamberlain's averaging 25.0 points and 6.0 rebounds a game while shooting 69.6 percent from the field.
