The GORP equipment room is located in the Harris Center and is open from 4:15 to 5:45 pm Monday through Friday when classes are in session for students to loan and rent equipment. Normally equipment is free, but a small rental fee is charged during breaks. A $20 deposit is required for all rentals and loans and individuals are limited to checking out gear for two people. Popular items include: sleeping bags, tents, pads, camping stoves, cross country skis and backpacks. Break check-outs begin the Thursday a week prior to break and items are given out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Groups needing equipment are encouraged to contact the equipment room at least two week prior to their trip. For more information, call the GORP equipment room during open hours at X3840.
