Iowa's ban on smoking in effect

The College is moving to comply with Iowa's comprehensive ban on smoking, www.iowasmokefreeair.gov. Beginning July 1, there will be no smoking in or around any of the buildings on the Grinnell campus.

No smoking signs will be placed at building entrances and in parking areas.

Persons who choose to smoke on Grinnell's campus do so at their own risk. The fine for violating the smoking ban is $100 for the first offense.

Resources to assist members of the campus community who would like to stop smoking tobacco are available through Quitline Iowa. Employees may participate in smoking cessation classes through the Grinnell Regional Medical Center (GRMC). The College's wellness program will cover the cost of employees attending scheduled classes. For more information, call GRMC's Wellness Services at 641-236-2999.
