Assistant Professor
Rob Lewis received his B.A. from Carleton College in 1998, and earned an M.A. (2002) and Ph.D. (2007) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His work focuses on athletic stadiums as a way of analyzing urban change, spectator sport and mass politics in late-19th and early-20th century France. His broader research and teaching interests include French history, urban history, the history of sports and leisure, and the history of Communism. He also particularly enjoys bicycling (both touring and racing) and travel.
