Students on the Grinnell-in-London may apply for a Phase II internship. Upon being accepted into the program, students work with our London internship coordinator to secure a position in the field of their choosing. 15 internships are available each fall, including three parliamentary internships. Application to the internship program is competitive. The internships are 4 credits. In addition to the internship, interns are required to take a complimentary 2 credit course. Parliamentary interns take the course titled 'The British Parliament'. Non-parliamentary interns take 'Understanding Work in the UK'. Interns are provided with access to the Senate House Library.
Some of the internships that previous GIL students have had are described (in the words of the students) below. For a complete list of all internships done in London by Grinnell College students, please search the Career Development Office database.
