Formerly a bastion of men's intramural prowess, Smith Hall is the southernmost of the original chain of the North Campus men's residence halls. Like all residence halls at Grinnell, it is now home to both men and women. James A. Smith of Osage, Iowa, was a trustee of Grinnell College as well as a state representative.
